- Next, click the “Check the Status of My Claim” to move to the next page.

Payout Amount
According to the Settlement agreement, the class member with a valid claim will receive the payout from the net settlement fund of $1.9 billion. The net settlement fund is the remaining fund of $2.67 billion that comes after the settlement administrator covers the other costs, such as attorney fees & costs, administration expenses, and service awards for the class representative.
The $1.9 billion settlement fund will be divided into two funds, where $1.78 billion will be used to compensate the individuals, insured groups, and their employees, and the remaining $120 million will be used for the Self-funded accounts and their employees.
The separate funds will be used to compensate the respective class members. The administrator has not determined the exact amount for each claimant as it depends on many factors; however, based on the estimates, the claimants can expect a payout of up to $333 under this settlement. The payout amount can be changed; however, the smaller payout will not increase the other payout.
If the settlement payout is $5 or less for the class members will not receive any payout from the settlement. Apart from the monetary benefits, the company promised to make the changes in their business to ensure they would not violate the antitrust laws.
Who will receive it?
According to the BCBS settlement, the company violated the antitrust laws with the agreement not to compete with each other, which limits the competition and results in lower healthcare costs. So, the settlement covers the individual, insured groups, and self-funded accounts (their employees). The class members wondering about their eligibility for the settlement can check it below:
- You were enrolled in the Blue Cross Blue Shield health insurance or administrative services plans between February 2008 and October 2020;
- You are an individual, insured group, self-funded account (or their employees) who have purchased or enrolled in BCBS health insurance or an administrative services plan during the settlement period.
- The settlement period for the individuals and insured groups is 07 February 2008 and 16 October 2020, whereas the class period for the self-funded accounts is from 01 September 2015 and 16 October 2020.
Payment Method
The BCBS settlement payout would be paid to the approved claimants based on the payment method they have selected in the claim form. According to the settlement agreement, the claimants would receive the payout in the following manner:
- Direct Deposit
- Physical Check
- Venmo
- PayPal
The class members who have filed the claim form, and if their payment method information is changed now, like PayPal email ID, mailing address, and others, should report the change to the settlement administrator to receive the payout on time and not miss the payment.
The BCBS settlement was long overdue, the claimants can check their claim status to ensure they will receive the payment from the settlement administrator.
I check every day and it still says it’d in review..when will that change?
Ya mine to an I don’t know where the hell to go put my address or name info an Deposit number ?
I CHECK ALSO EVERY DAY AND NOW IN END OF JULY STILL NOTHING
Same! Its frustrating as the article states “mid 2025” – Its almost August and mine is still “in review”
When will i reseve my check
They still collecting their interest off the billions of dollars that they got months ago first then they get around to sending out payments, maybe ??
Exactly what I was thinking. We should get part of that too.
yes – for sure – absolutely – i emailed this with the question of, “how much interest on that settlement have you received so far?” of course, no reply.
Since this goes back to 2008, my premiums are over $16,000….am I reading it correctly that I’m only going to get $333 out of all of this? I check daily and it’s still in review.
I feel you on the 16000. I have paid out over 20000 and like you said only getting up to 333z that’s crazy
Some will get more and some less I believe according to amount of premiums paid in timeframe they gave
From what I read, some people will get less, and some will get more. I think the $333 is just the average.
Mine still says in review
Ya mine to an I dont know where the hell to go put my address or nak info ????
HOW DO i CHECK MY STATUS?
Well, it’s MId 2025 and still waiting. Sure layers got theirs and now making interest on our money. We should get that too.
People have been waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting, like myself, for four (4) years now only to be told we claimants will only receive up to $333 per person on average. Is that any way to handle this sort of litigation – stretch it out as far as possible so you can skim your millions off the top before the claimants receive their money? That’s really wrong and unethical – downright disgusting – get we claimants our money asap.
I’m starting to get really f aggravated with this now
I was asked to pay a fee to find about how much I would receive. It went from 5 To 25. I was told to call bc settlement. Which just told me to call bc settlement. No Answer as recd.
Only one really get paid off low class action suit is the lawyers
That’s like that with any class action suit. They drag their feet, linger the lawyers wait, the more they gobble up in fees! I guess the government should regulate this like they do everything else. It’s sickening, we get screwed and they are the ones that profit most from it!
It will be a year tomorrow! Ridiculous!
Mine still says in review also,it is disgusting that they are taking their sweet ass time in getting out the payments! Don’t they realize that we could use the money asap? These lawyers have no compassion for us people!
This is wrong! The max payout is not 333.00… that is the average but that is not how it is calculated. Payment is individual based upon premiums paid. Also not accurate that payments have started… could be years before anyone receives a penny.
How can they tell everyone still in Review when it’s been over 3 years? Who is getting paid to review the claims? Seems like a rip-off to the consumers who are owed the money back.
Well, it’s JULY now and nothing. Bet they are making a lot of interest holding the money and I’m pretty sure the layers got paid. Waiting!
Now it’s AUGUST!!!
Now it is the middle of OCTOBER!!!
So, I check the premium amounts used to calculate the payment I will receive. Three years 2009-2011 total $1160.96, I paid roughly $45,000,00 during those years for coverage. On top of that I continued to be a Blue Cross Blue shield customer for all the years from 2012-2020, another 9 years totaling roughly $153,000.00. Since no information regarding what data is used to calculate what payment you are awarded I expect to receive about as as close to nothing as possible. If I am reading this right the legal fess and other goobledigook total about 700 million. Hmmmmm.
Horrible and in review is the common answer with no concrete dates or resolution
I received an email back in Feb instructing me to review my settlement amounts which totaled over $1500. The email gave an option to select an electronic debit card as my payment method and I would be among the first to get paid. I did opt for the EDC but have not received anything as of July 15th so this thing is definitely taking longer than expected. Also, the article doesn’t mention anything about the EDC being an option but this email was definitely legitimate.
Time value of money…which means any settlement amount is shrinking in value with each passing day.
my unique id # says not valid. when are they sending out checks???
Seems like everyone’s claim is still in review. How many years will it stay in review??
Claim is still in review. Received an email but nothing.
