The Accufit class action settlement payment distribution is expected in April 2025. The class members who filed the claim form last year are expected to receive compensation from the $39 million fund.
The New York Eastern District federal court granted the final approval order on 27 September 2024, as the final hearing was held on 27 March 2024. The class action involves the defendant LensCrafters, the plaintiff claiming they have violated the laws as they made AccuFit system misrepresentation materials, which say it was five times more effective than traditional methods.
The plaintiffs allege that the claims were false, making them ineffective, as they claim, and customers paid more due to such claims. The defendant denies the allegations but has agreed to settle the lawsuit with a settlement fund. The class members can now expect compensation of up to $50 anytime soon.

After the administration has deducted the above-mentioned expenses, the remaining funds (net settlement fund) will be used to provide compensation to the class members with approved claims. The net settlement fund will be allocated in equal proportion among the class members with valid claims.
According to the settlement administrator’s estimate, the approved claims class members can expect a payout of $50 for each set of prescribed glasses they bought from LensCrafters during the class period. So, the higher the purchase of the prescribed glasses from LensCrafters, the higher the payout amount.
