The class members who have filed the Cash App Security settlement before the 18 November 2024 deadline can check the payment status in the following steps:
- You can visit the official settlement website and go to the MENU icon and select the Contact option.
- On the next page, click “Contact Settlement Administrator” and select the reason to contact.
- Next, select the category of “ The settlement benefits,” and in the topic, select Others.
- Next, enter your email address, name, phone number, reason, and message about the payment status.
- Once you submit the query, the administrator will respond to you shortly with your payment status.

Who is eligible?
The Cash App settlement payout will be given to the people who meet the following eligibility criteria:
- When personal information belonging to you is compromised without your knowledge, whether you are a current or past customer of Cash App, Cash App Investing, or its affiliates, parents, or subsidiaries.
- When you have faced fraudulent transfer of money or unauthorized withdrawals from the Cash App account or any account linked to the Cash App during the class period, 23 Aug 2018 to 20 Aug 2024.
Payout Amount
The Cash App security settlement offers a $15 million settlement fund to compensate the class members and cover the other costs of settlement administration. The administrator will use the fund to cover the administration cost, legal representatives’ fees & costs, service awards for plaintiffs who bought the case, and other expenses.
Now, from the remaining amount, the valid claimants will receive the compensation based on the award they have claimed, such as:
- Out-of-pocket losses: Class members who have spent their own money to deal with a data breach, unauthorized transfer of money, error, or other data security issues during the class period will receive compensation up to $2500.
- Lost Time: Class members who have invested their time in resolving the problem that arises due to the Cash App data security issues can receive compensation for all the time they lost at the rate of $25 for each hour up to a total of 3 hours, meaning the maximum payout you can get is $75.
- Transaction loss: Class members who faced unauthorized transfer of money and lost their hard-earned money can receive compensation for all the money they lost during the class period, with proper evidence of the transfer of money.
The payout amount for the class members may differ from one another based on the claims they made and the claims they qualified for, so class members should wait for the administrator to determine the payout and start the distribution.

If the electronic payment is returned to the administrator, they will try to locate the class member within 30 days and send the physical check to the class member, and if they can’t locate you, you might miss the payment.
