Walmart customers who shopped between October 19, 2018, and January 19, 2024, can expect compensation of up to $500 under the Walmart Weighted Groceries settlement from a $45 million fund. The settlement got the final approval from the US District Court of the Tampa Division in June 2024.
The class members of the Walmart settlement who have filed the claim before the deadline, 05 June 2024, have been waiting for the payout for a long time now. The reports suggest the claimants can expect the payout in mid-2025, as it can take several months to process the claims.
According to the settlement website, the payment distribution and deciding the payment per claimant can take time. The settlement administrator will update about the settlement and payment on the website. Generally, the delay happens due to an appeal, however, the administrator has not updated any such news till now.

Who will receive it?
The Walmart customers who meet the following eligibility criteria will receive the upcoming Walmart settlement payout:
- According to the settlement agreement, all the people who bought the weighted goods and bagged citrus from the Walmart store/ Supercenter, or neighborhood market, physically during the settlement class period, October 19, 2018, and January 19, 2024, will be class members.
- The weighted goods in the settlement mean the variable pork, meat, seafood, and poultry products that are labeled with barcodes in the Walmart Department 93 products. The Department 93 products are the products that are sold at lower prices as they are near the expiration date.
- The Bagged Citrus products in the settlement involve products like grapefruits, tangerines, oranges, and navel oranges sold in Walmart stores in bulk.
- The class members who have filed the claim form before the deadline, 05 June 2024, and class members who opted to do nothing with the settlement and filed the exclusion form will be ineligible for the payout.
Payout per Person
Walmart Weighted groceries settlement administrator will use the $45 million fund first to cover the attorney fees & costs, class representatives’ service awards, settlement administration costs, and other expenses. Afterward, the remaining funds will be used to compensate the customers with valid claims based on their purchase of the weighted goods and bagged citrus products:

- If you have proof of purchase or other documentation related to your in-store purchase of eligible products at Walmart, you may be eligible to receive 2% of the total cost of those products. This settlement benefit is capped at a maximum of $500.
Payment Method
According to the Walmart settlement, the approved claimant will receive only one of the settlement benefits unless the entire amount is distributed based on the proportionate allocation. The payout amount for each claimant may be different, they will receive their respective payout through the payment method they have chosen in the claim form.
The Walmart settlement administrator will process the payout to the valid claimants through one of the following payment methods:
- Venmo
- Zelle
- Virtual Prepaid Card
- Physical Check
What to do if the claim information is changed?
In June 2025, it will be a year since the class members filed the claim form for the Walmart settlement, hence, it is possible that some class members’ payment method information has changed over this long time. If any class members have the same case, they should immediately report the claim information to the administrator.
If you fail to do so, you may miss your Walmart settlement payout of up to $500. The class members should update the claim information in the settlement agreement through the toll-free number 1-833-987-9998, or they can email the change to the email address at Info@WalmartWeightedGroceriesSettlement.com, or they can mail the changes to the administration postal address where you have sent the claim form.
The Walmart settlement is yet to be distributed, the claimants must check the settlement website regularly because the administrator will post an update about the payment distribution before starting the process.
