The MiraCosta Community College District is located in San Diego County along the Southern California coast, between Orange County to the north and the metropolitan area of San Diego to the south. The district is approximately 35 miles north of San Diego and 90 miles south of Los Angeles. The District includes the cities of Oceanside, Carlsbad, Encinitas, Rancho Santa Fe, Solana Beach, Del Mar, the unincorporated areas of La Costa, Olivenhain, and portions of Carmel Valley and Camp Pendleton Marine Base.

At MiraCosta College, we are proud to pair our academics with a vibrant, active student experience. There’s no shortage of activity on campus. Students can experience activities like cultural celebrations at lunch, “Pie Your Professor” events during College Hour, thought-provoking lectures, exciting performances, and even “Yoga on the Green” under the college’s iconic clock tower. Both students and staff enjoy a friendly atmosphere, and the feeling that we are all here to help one another. Our diverse student body includes people from a variety of ages, ethnicities and cultural backgrounds.

With an average class size of about 30 to 45, MiraCosta students rave about their professors and the personal attention they receive. Our talented faculty bring your passions to life. With an extensive collection of experience across a broad range of subjects, our instructors’ top priority is student success. Unlike some large universities—where students say they feel like little more than a student ID number—MiraCosta College provides the personal attention students need to excel.

At MiraCosta College, you’re more than a number. MiraCosta offers a variety of programs designed to help students reach their educational goal. We proudly deliver a cutting-edge curriculum in 70 academic subjects. Students who plan to transfer to a four-year university get on the right track through TAG, IGETC, UniversityLink, and other transfer programs. MiraCosta College also has one of the highest transfer rates to the University of California out of all of the community colleges in San Diego County. Our students also typically earn higher GPA’s than non-transfer students. For more information, please visit: MiraCosta Community College.
